Children (K-4th)
The Children's Programs at First UMC McAlester were very active in 2009 and have been in 2010 too. There are Sunday School classes for all ages, starting with Kindergarten. On Wednesday nights and Sunday nights, there is "Kidz Zone"; a time where we study, pray, play games, and interact with each other in a safe environment.
Times for the programs are:

Every summer we take exciting field trips to fun places around the state. In Summer 2007 we travelled to The Children's Museum in Seminole, OK and the Tiger Refuge in Broken Arrow, OK. In Summer 2008 we travelled to the OKC Zoo, the Noble Museum of Natural History in Norman, OK, and the Arbuckle Wilderness in south central Oklahoma. In Summer 2009 we travelled to Tulsa and Robber's Cave State Park. And in Summer 2010 we had Wednesday night activities at the church and travelled to the Precious Moments Chapel in Missouri.
Every Christmas we present a Children's Pagaent for the whole church. Participants sing, play chimes, inact the Christmas story, read scripture, play the piano, and show off their special gifts and talents. Practice begins on Wednesday nights in the fall.
